Ann Murphy has been a contributing member of The Family Co. Board for the last 7 years, serving for 4 years as our Chairperson until 2021. She continues in 2022 as a Board Member, using her experience to continue to support the organisation.

Ann moved to Australia from England in 1990. She holds a Bachelor of Nursing from UTS, and a Post Graduate Certificate in Critical Care (College of Nursing), and has worked in Critical Care (ER) units of hospitals for over 15 years. She currently holds the role of Nursing Unit Manager for St.George Public Hospital.

Ann has a unique insight into the many ways that The Family Co. helps women in the community, and believes her ongoing involvement with the organisation is a way to give back to both The Family Co. and the community, recognising that there are many women whom without The Family Co's help, would be unsupported at one of the most difficult times in their lives. She brings unique empathy and strong values and beliefs about the role The Family Co. serve.

In Ann's role on the Board, she has represented The Family Co. at many functions, attended Better Boards Conferences, Strategic planning days, and has supported the CEO in implementing many changes to the organisation for it's ultimate benefit. She uses her people skills and belief in the organisation to ensure it remains client focused, and trauma informed.
