Circle of Security is a relationship program designed to strengthen the parent/ caregiver relationship through enhancing attachment security. It is an evidence based program that helps parents/ caregivers recognise new ways to understand their child’s needs and behaviours, and learn effective ways to connect with their child. It enhances a child’s sense of security, self-esteem and parent- child relationship.

Circle of Security is an 8 week relationship based parenting program built on the assumption that learning and therapeutic change occurs from within a secure base relationship between the child and their caregiver. The program uses the Circle of Security as a map to improve caregivers’ observational skills, enter into reflective dialogue, and contain their own affect as they attend to their children’s need for affect regulation. The program is delivered in DVD format with the BRIC workers providing discussion and opportunities to process the information with a DV and trauma lens.
