International Women's Day (March 8) is a global day celebrating the social, economic, cultural, and political achievements of women. The day also marks a call to action for accelerating women's equality. The theme for the 2023 of International Women's Day is #EmbraceEquity. 

The term “equity” refers to fairness and justice and is distinguished from equality - which means providing the same to all. Equity means recognising that we do not all start from the same place and must acknowledge and make adjustments to imbalances. When we embrace equity, we embrace diversity, and we embrace inclusion. We promote respect. We promote healthy, fulfilling personal relationships. 

At The Family Co. we know all about strong women. As the leading Family Support  Service, as well as the largest Domestic Violence Support Service in the Sutherland Shire. We meet, and help, strong women every day.

Strong women do their best. Strong women work hard for their families.  Strong women advocate for their children - at school, and in life. Strong women leave unhealthy relationships. Strong women survive domestic violence. Strong women need help sometimes to get them through.
