Be a Holiday Hero and Donate Help Us Make a Difference This Christmas Let’s Support More Families Together This Christmas season, we're launching a heartfelt campaign to make a lasting difference in the lives of women, children, young people, and families in need. Our goal? To raise $100,000 to hire a new case worker for our Child, Youth, and Family Team, allowing us to expand our services and eliminate our current waitlist – so no family in need has to wait to receive support. Donate Now Why We Need Your Help In the last year, our Child, Youth, and Family Team supported 889 families with case work and 314 families through parenting programs, a crucial resource for parents and children in challenging situations. Unfortunately, government funding for this program has remained stagnant for the past five years, even as the need for these services has surged. Today, families in the Sutherland Shire face a 6-8 week wait for support. Our limited resources also prevent us from serving families in surrounding communities who reach out for help every week. With an additional case worker, we can: Support 200 more families each year. Reduce our waitlist to zero. Respond to urgent referrals in due time. Donate Now What a Case Worker Does A Child, Youth, and Family Case Worker provides compassionate, tailored support to families facing adversity. Our team works with families from pregnancy through parenting teenagers, helping them navigate various challenges, including: Parenting and New Baby Support: Guidance for overwhelmed parents, pre-natal connections, mental health support, and practical resources. Domestic Violence and Relationship Support: Creating safety plans, providing referrals, and fostering better family communication. Child Development Support: Assistance with behaviour concerns, navigating childcare, and supporting families through diagnoses and the NDIS process. Financial and Housing Assistance: Connecting families with crisis support, government services, and financial resources. Education and Youth Programs: Programs for young people and their parents addressing relationship skills, consent, bullying, school difficulties, and mental health challenges. Crisis and Practical Support: Immediate help for families dealing with domestic violence, homelessness, and other crises.
