The Better Futures Ball is The Family Co.'s biggest night of the year. A formal/black tie celebration bringing together our community, our partners and the people who make our work possible.

For 38 years, we've walked alongside women, young people and families across Southern Sydney as they move from surviving to thriving. This is the night we celebrate that journey, and invest in everything still to come.

All profits from the night go directly to the wraparound, trauma-informed support that helps families build safer homes, stronger connections and brighter futures.

Mike Munro AM

Mike Munro AM is one of Australia's most familiar and trusted voices. A career spanning decades across the country's leading news and current affairs programs, including A Current Affair and 60 Minutes, has made him a household name.

But behind the warm smile is something deeply personal. Mike carries a lived understanding of domestic and family violence, and what it truly means to come out the other side.

At the Better Futures Ball, he'll share his story, his reasons for joining us, and why this work matters more than ever.

Tracey Spicer AM

A multiple Walkley Award-winning journalist, broadcaster and author with 30+ years on Australia's leading networks, Tracey keeps audiences engaged, laughing, and invested.

As the inaugural national convenor of Women in Media and a passionate advocate for gender equality and social justice, Tracey brings both gravitas and warmth to every conversation she leads. She's hosted events from intimate fundraisers to large-scale corporate galas, and she has a gift for bringing people together around what matters.

On 5 September, Tracey will guide the evening with the wit, clarity and authenticity that have made her one of Australia's most sought-after speakers and broadcasters. The night is in very good hands.

When the speeches wrap and the plates are cleared, the lights drop and Planet Groove take over.

Two stunning vocalists, a full live band, and a setlist that runs from disco classics and 80s anthems through to soul, R&B and the songs at the top of the charts right now. Every song you've ever danced to, played live, by one of Sydney's most loved party bands.

Planet Groove aren't background music. They're the reason everyone stays. By the second song, the floor is full. By the encore, no one wants the night to end.

WHERE YOUR SUPPORT GOES

The Family Co. is a not-for-profit community services organisation supporting children, young people, women and families across South and South Eastern Sydney.

We provide wraparound, trauma-informed support across domestic and family violence, youth programs, family support, Aboriginal services, allied health and pathways to safety, healing and independence.

But not all of this work is funded. The discretionary support that makes the biggest difference, the removalist truck for a woman fleeing violence, the school uniform for a child starting fresh, the safe phone, the counselling session, the bond for a new home, relies on the generosity of our community.

When and where is the Better Futures Ball? Saturday 5 September 2026, from 6:30pm, at Doltone House, Hyde Park.

What's the dress code? Formal / Black Tie.

What's included in my ticket? A three course seated dinner, drinks throughout the night, a keynote from Mike Munro AM, live and silent auctions, and entertainment.

Are tickets tax deductible? Tickets are not tax-deductible but any donations made are.

Can I buy a table? Yes. Tables of 10 are available.
