Southern Waters Legal, under the leadership of Head Solicitor Leona Bennet, has cultivated a profound and enduring partnership with The Family Co that goes beyond mere financial support for crucial events like our Golf Day or Gala Fundraising Dinner. The collaboration has given rise to impactful initiatives that significantly benefit the community such as the bi-weekly Legal Clinic, which offers free family law advice, a service that has assisted 44 women in the last five months. In addition to this service, Southern Waters regularly offers community based education and information sessions on navigating the Family Law System, helping hundreds of women and families in the Sutherland Shire with these This partnership epitomises a holistic approach, characterised by compassion, community engagement, and enduring support for families in need.

Big Sister Foundation, as the largest non-government funder of women's support services in the Sutherland Shire, has forged an impactful and enduring partnership with The Family Co. With a collaboration that has spanned multiple years, Big Sister Foundation has co-funded essential domestic and family violence case workers, offering critical assistance to those in distress. Big Sister's grants have played a pivotal role in sustaining and expanding some of The Family Co’s programs such as the Building Resilience In Children (BRIC) program. The multi-year commitment ensures not only the growth but also the sustainability of these initiatives, demonstrating a shared dedication to fostering positive, lasting change within the community. This partnership exemplifies the profound impact that strategic collaboration can have on supporting vulnerable individuals and building a stronger, more resilient community.

How to Refer

Help is easy to access. You can be referred by a health professional or another agency, or self-refer. Just call us on (02) 9528 2933 and tell us what you need help with.
Volunteer

Volunteering is a great way to help us! We're a lean and specialised team, and while we don't allow volunteers in client facing capacities, we are very grateful to have volunteers who can assist with admin, marketing and events. If you're interested, we'd love to hear from you!

Family Workers provide assistance to families who, for a variety of reasons, would benefit from additional support.
Youth Programs & Services

The Family Co. Youth Services offer information, support and programs for young people, schools and families. Our experienced staff aim to support young people to strengthen and foster relationships and develop resilience and life skills. We offer a range of programs and services that help young people become self-aware, understand and explore their potential, and be present and connected in their community.
Kid's Helpline

Southern Sydney Women's Domestic Violence Court Advocacy Service

The Southern Sydney Women's Domestic Violence Court Advocacy Service (SSWDVCAS) provides information, advocacy and referrals for women and families attending Sutherland and Kogarah Local Courts for Apprehended Domestic Violence Orders.
Play and Connect

Play and Connect is a free playgroup for families with children aged 0-5, and operates every Thursday morning during school terms at The Family Co centre in Jannali. This supportive group provides opportunity for families to connect with their child through fun, interactive activities, sensory play and art.
