Shining a Light on Our Young People Celebrating Youth Week 2025 NSW Youth Week 2025 (9 - 17 April) is a time to celebrate the voices, talents, and power of young people - and here at The Family Co. we’re standing proudly beside them. This year’s theme, “We are the future. The future is now.”, speaks directly to the heart of what we believe: that young people aren’t just the leaders of tomorrow, they’re change-makers today. At The Family Co. we see young people for who they really are, vibrant, capable, and full of potential. We also see the challenges many of them face. Whether it’s navigating school pressures, identity, mental health struggles, or family breakdowns, young people today are doing it tough. That’s why we exist. We know that when we support young people early, we can change lives. Our Child, Youth and Family team work each day to provide safe spaces, strong mentors, and practical tools to help young people overcome barriers, build resilience, and feel a sense of belonging in their communities. One of the programs we’re really proud of is Social Space. A bi-monthly youth wellbeing drop-in that gives young people aged 12–18 a safe place to just be. At Social Space, they can talk to trusted youth workers, take part in creative workshops, meet new friends, or simply hang out with no pressure to perform or explain themselves. It’s a space built with young people, for young people, and we’re seeing the difference it makes. So why does Youth Week matter so much? Because our young people deserve to be seen, heard, and supported. And because the best way to strengthen communities is to invest in the wellbeing of our youth. Our Child, Youth and Family team doesn’t just wait until crisis hits. We aim to focus on early intervention - stepping in before things escalate. Whether it’s delivering school-based programs, supporting young people through family transitions, or connecting teens with the mental health resources they need, our goal is to create pathways to safety, stability, and hope. In honour of Youth Week, we’re calling on our whole community to get loud in support of our youth. We encourage you listen to their stories and advocate to amplify their voices. But most of all, let’s keep showing up for them - not just for Youth Week, but all year round. Because when young people thrive, we all thrive. Happy NSW Youth Week 2025! Manage Cookie Preferences
