Supporting Future Generations National Child Protection Week: A Community Effort for Safer Futures At The Family Co., we’re all about creating a world where every child, young person, and family feels safe, connected, and supported. This National Child Protection Week, running from September 1-7, we’re teaming up with communities across Australia to spread the message that “Every child in every community needs a fair go.” This year’s theme, “Every conversation matters,” really hits home, reminding us all of the crucial role our we all play in protecting our children’s futures. The Reality: Why We Need to Act Now Did you know that about 6 in 10 Australians have experienced some form of maltreatment during their childhood? Whether it’s physical, emotional, sexual, or exposure to domestic violence, these experiences can have long-lasting effects on mental health. Even more concerning, around 35% of young people aged 16-24 have faced emotional abuse. These statistics highlight just how crucial it is for us to take action. This all starts with prevention and support.
