OurTuning Into Teens Parent Education Program is a FREE, 6 week workshop series - Held weekly on Tuesday evenings for 2 hours - to help parents learn important skills that will improve their communication and relationships with their teens and reduce conflict in their homes.

Golf Day Big Success for The Family Co.

Our inaugural charity golf day, held on 21st May 2021 was a huge success for The Family Co, raising over $25,000 which will fund additional caseworker hours and new support programs.

National Domestic Violence issue in the news - but locally, what can we do?

Here in the Sutherland Shire, we see hundreds of “Hannah’s” each year – women who are living an unimaginable nightmare, experiencing many forms of domestic violence, trying to leave their violent partners, who fear for their and their children’s lives. Women who come to us for help.

Circle of Security

Circle of Security is a relationship program designed to strengthen the parent/ caregiver relationship through enhancing attachment security. It is an evidence based program that helps parents/ caregivers recognise new ways to understand their child’s needs and behaviours, and learn effective ways to connect with their child.
Volunteer

Volunteering is a great way to help us! We're a lean and specialised team, and while we don't allow volunteers in client facing capacities, we are very grateful to have volunteers who can assist with admin, marketing and events. If you're interested, we'd love to hear from you!

Family Workers provide assistance to families who, for a variety of reasons, would benefit from additional support.
Djanaba director Jann celebrates 30 years service

Today we celebrated, Jann Griffiths, our Djanaba Occasional Care Centre Director for her 30 years of service to SSFS, with a team morning tea. This was a wonderful opportunity to thank Jann for caring for and brightening the lives of more than a thousand children during this time.

Support for Parents & Families

We offer services that support and strengthen the capacity of families, build parenting skills, and promote safety for all family members.
Supported Playgroup

Supported Playgroup operates every Monday morning during school terms in our own purpose-built child care centre in Jannali.
