Beneath Behaviour: Responding to Emotions and Building Safe Connections within educations settings

This professional development program supports educators in recognising trauma responses in children and young people and managing emotions in the classroom. This program aims to:

  • Build awareness and knowledge of trauma and how this can present in children/young people and self
  • Discover and develop regulation strategies for both children and educators in education settings
  • Learn a variety of practical engagement tools and intervention options
  • Recognise warning signs and opportunities to provide early intervention
  • Access wellbeing support and tools for self care for educators and reduce risk of vicarious trauma
  • Learn strategies to support children and young people individually, build connection, relate and co-regulate
  • Access information and support to manage disclosures safely
