Our experienced staff aim to support young people to strengthen and foster relationships and develop resilience and life skills. We offer a range of programs and services that help young people become self-aware, understand and explore their potential, and be present and connected in their community.

    This 4 week online parenting program "Building Resilience in Children" will help teach you how to help your child regulate their nervous system and manage anxious feelings to build long term resilience.

    Pathway of Change: Domestic Violence Support Group (Term 1, 2023) *Open to Sutherland Shire Residents Only

    This free, 8 week education and support group is designed to provide a safe and nurturing space for women to understand the complexity of Domestic Violence and reduce the social isolation of their experience. Through the lived and shared experiences of women and their children, the group allows women to build on their strengths to keep themselves and their children safe.

Themes such as self-responsibility, values, emotional expression, identity and peer pressure are all addressed in this program that aims to engage, connect, entertain and encourage participants allowing the expression of creativity and reducing anxiety and stress.

    Creative Hearts and Minds Art Classes for Kids are a great way for kids aged 6-12 years to express themselves while trying lots of different art making practices.

    Consent Conversations is a Parent Education Workshop to help parents have open and honest conversations with their teenager about respect and consent in their relationships.

  • Giggle and Grow

    Giggle and Grow

    The Giggle and Grow Sessions are relaxed and fun organised playdates for parents and their babies aged 0-18 months. Held weekly at Yarrawarrah Community Hall, the sessions allow parents to connect, build their support network, and learn more about their babies. Facilitated by professional staff, the group helps build confidence in parenting skills.

    Managing Big Feelings in Little People

    Big Feelings in Little People is an Emotion Coaching Program developed by The Family Co. which aims to help parents understand their child's cognitive and emotional development, and give them practical tools to help their children learn how to express their feelings and regulate strong emotions.

    Love Bites is an extremely successful school based domestic and family violence, sexual assault and consent awareness education program, targeted at Year 10 students, which is run in local high schools by trained facilitators.

    Last week the Djanaba Occasional Care team integrated a learning unit on Australian Animals, with the children showing great interest in the varied activities from reading, to art, to games, that helped them learn all about koalas, kangaroos, and other native fauna.

    Volunteering is a great way to help us! We're a lean and specialised team, and while we don't allow volunteers in client facing capacities, we are very grateful to have volunteers who can assist with admin, marketing and events. If you're interested, we'd love to hear from you!

    The Southern Sydney Women's Domestic Violence Court Advocacy Service (SSWDVCAS) provides information, advocacy and referrals for women and families attending Sutherland and Kogarah Local Courts for Apprehended Domestic Violence Orders.
