Collaborating for Safety: A Professional Forum on Family Law and Domestic Violence

On the 2nd of December, we were honoured to be the major sponsor of the Sutherland Shire Domestic Violence Committee's 'Collaborating for Safety' forum - bringing together judiciary, legal experts, frontline workers, and community leaders, all committed to safer outcomes for families experiencing domestic and family violence.
Held during the 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence, this event reminded us of the power of collaboration. With around 70 professionals from across our local DV sector, we heard from remarkable voices including:
  • The Honourable Justice Thomas Altobelli of the Federal Circuit and Family Court of Australia
  • Hayley Foster, Director of Family Violence and Director of Access, Equity & Inclusion at the Federal Circuit and Family Court of Australia
  • Samantha Jones, Director of Catholic Care Sydney’s Family Law and Relationship Services
  • Grace Jordan, Senior Solicitor with the Domestic Violence Unit at Legal Aid NSW
  • Leona Bennett, Head of Family Law and Managing Partner at Southern Waters Legal
  • Plus our own, Ashleigh Daines, conducting the Master of Ceremonies.
Each speaker's insights were inspiring and thought-provoking, showing how every sector is working toward one vital goal: creating safer homes and stronger connections for those who need it most.
