Bulk-Billed GP Services Now Available at The Family Co.

We are excited to announce that bulk-billed GP services are now available in-house at The Family Co. every Tuesday. This service is provided by the wonderful doctors at Kirrawee Family Medical Practice, ensuring that our clients have access to quality healthcare in a safe and supportive environment.

General practice consultations cover a wide range of medical services, including but not limited to: patient consultations, health assessments, medical investigations, prescriptions, referrals, preventative care, chronic disease management, sexual health and education, and mental health care plans. 

We'll be offering the following services:

Women's Health

We offer a comprehensive range of women’s health services, tailored to your needs at every stage of life.

Contraception
  • Long-acting options: Implanon and Mirena available.
  • Emergency contraception: Copper IUD available upon request. Please note: it must be inserted within 5 days of unprotected sex. Let us know in advance so we can prepare the device for your appointment.

Antenatal & Postnatal Care
  • Pregnancy support and checkups 
  • Shared care options available.

Preventive Screening
  • Pap smears (cervical screening)
  • Skin checks
  • Breast checks

Children's Health

We support your child’s wellbeing with a full suite of health services.

Routine Care & Check-Ups
  • General health checks for children of all ages

Vaccinations
  • Childhood immunisations (please provide notice so we can prepare vaccines)
  • Catch-up vaccination schedules

Health & Daycare Support
  • Daycare clearance certificates
  • Allergy and anaphylaxis action plans


Paperwork & Medical Forms

We can assist with completing and verifying various medical documents and certificates.

  • Medicare: Medical condition verification
  • Centrelink: Medical certificates
  • Carers Support: Carer payment/allowance forms
  • NDIS: Medical support letters
  • Housing: Medical evidence forms
  • CTG: Closing the Gap form and online verification

Who Can Access This Service?

At this stage, our bulk-billed GP service is only available to current clients of The Family Co. If you are receiving support from one of our programs, you may be eligible to book an appointment.

Q: How do I become a client of The Family Co.?
A: In order to become a client of The Family Co. you'll need to refer to our service. We take referrals from people who are looking for help for themselves or their family members, doctors and mental health professionals, schools, as well as Government and Non-Government agencies, including other service providers.

Q: How do I book an appointment?
A: Please contact your caseworker to make an appointment.

Q: Do I require a Medicare card to access this service? 

A: Yes, A Medicare card is needed to access this service, if you do not have a Medicare card or are a foreign national please speak with your caseworker as we may still be able to assist you. 

Q: Can a Doctor help me with a mental health plan? 
A: Yes, all Doctors from KFMP can assist by providing a mental health plan for patients. 

Q: Can a Doctor provide me a certificate of injury for Victims services? 
A: Yes, all Doctors from KFMP can assist by providing a certificate of injury for patients to provide to Victims Services.

Q: How long is a standard consultation?
A: All patients will have the luxury of a full 30minute consultation with the scheduled doctor. You won't feel hurried or rushed plenty of time to discuss at length.

Q: Are extended consultations an option? 
A: Yes. For complex and intricate issues there is the option of extended consultations.
Q: Can I see the Doctor as many times as I like? 
A: Yes, provided you remain a client of The Family Co., you can schedule appointments with the Doctors as many times as necessary.
Q: Can my children / dependents see a Doctor as well? 
A: Provided you are a current client of The Family Co. your child or dependent can benefit from this initiative too by scheduling an appointment.

Q: Does The Family Co. keep or store any of my medical records?
A: No. All medical records are stored and dealt with by Kirrawee Family Medical Practice.

Q: Will the doctor share my details, information or records with The Family Co.?
A: No details, information or records will be shared with The Family Co., or anyone else without consent. We take client confidentiality, and safety very seriously.
