Koori Kids is a vibrant and culturally enriching playgroup designed specifically for Aboriginal families in the community. This free weekly program provides a unique opportunity for children to engage in a wide variety of educational and creative activities, both indoors and outdoors, while their families connect and share experiences. With activities like painting, singing, storytelling ("yarning"), and ball games, there's always something to spark joy and curiosity for babies through preschoolers.

In addition to the fun, healthy tucker is served to nourish both children and their caregivers, creating a warm and welcoming environment where families can build lasting connections. This playgroup is more than just playtime—it's a space for fostering cultural pride, learning, and community bonds in a supportive and nurturing atmosphere.

Koori Kids is run in partnership with the Kurranulla Aboriginal Corporation, underscoring its commitment to cultural relevance and community support.

Koori Kids meets on Wednesday mornings during school terms.

Tuning into Teens (Term 3 2026) (Sutherland Shire & Georges River Residents Only)

The Family Co. is offering an abridged version of the popular Tuning in to Teens program. This 4-week parent education workshop series helps parents of tweens/teens aged 10-18 years reduce conflict, increase communication, and recognise, understand and respond to their teenager's emotions as well as their own. Pathway of Change Term 3, 2026

This free, 5-week education and support group is designed to provide a safe and nurturing space for women to understand the complexity of Domestic Violence and reduce the social isolation of their experience. Through the lived and shared experiences of women and their children, the group allows women to build on their strengths to keep themselves and their children safe.
Healing Connections Term 3, 2026

The Healing Connections program is a research-backed, evidence-based initiative led by The Family Co.s Therapeutic Domestic and Family Violence Services Team. Healing Connections is designed to support parents and caregivers in navigating the impact of Domestic and Family Violence (DFV) on their relationship with their children.
The Family Co. Better Futures Ball

The Better Futures Ball is The Family Co.'s biggest night of the year. A formal/black tie celebration bringing together our community, our partners and the people who make our work possible. All profits from the night go directly to the wraparound, trauma-informed support that helps families build safer homes, stronger connections and brighter futures.

Kids Cove

Kids Cove is an after-school kids club focused on building social skills, boosting confidence and fostering friendships. Through fun, interactive activities, Kids Cove promotes creativity and personal growth in a safe, nurturing environment.
Play and Connect

Play and Connect is a free playgroup for families with children aged 0-5, and operates every Tuesday morning at The Family Co. centre in Jannali, and every Thursday morning at The Family Co. Hurstville during school terms. This supportive group provides opportunity for families to connect with their child and other families through fun, interactive activities, sensory play and art.
Consent Conversations

Consent Conversations is a respectful relationship and consent education program aimed to empower High School students. (1.5 hours) In person - Max 30 students per group
Mums & Bubs Yoga

Mums & Bubs Yoga is a yoga program for mums and their babies (under 6 months old) to build strength, reduce stress and increase connection. Available for Sutherland Shire residents.
Respect is Key

Respect is Key is a school based respectful relationships program for primary school students which builds their knowledge and understanding around key concepts of respect, consent and healthy relationships.
Meet Anxiety

Meet Anxiety is a parenting group for parents of children of any age who suffer from anxiety to help them parent in a way that supports their child's mental and emotional health and builds the child's long term resilience.
Conversation is Key

Conversation is Key is a free parent education workshop of parents of children in Year 5 or 6 about navigating talks with your child about healthy relationships and consent.
Art Classes for kids

Creative Hearts and Minds School Holiday Art Classes are a great way for kids aged 7-12 years to express themselves while trying different art making practices.
Our Reconciliation Action Plan

Our goal is that Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children, young people, families and communities have access to culturally safe services so that they are connected to their community, identity and culture. Our inclusive practices will contribute to and celebrate a shared understanding and knowledge of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander rich heritage, histories, traditions, and evolving cultures.
Consent Conversations Parenting Workshop

Consent Conversations is a Parent Education Workshop to help parents have open and honest conversations with their teenager about respect and consent in their relationships.
