Supporting You Through the Court Process

If you are the protected person in a domestic violence related hearing and are female identifying, our Prosecutor Hearing Clinic can help you prepare. These monthly information sessions are facilitated by our Domestic & Family Violence Specialists, in partnership with local Police Prosecutors and Domestic Violence Liaison Officers. The sessions aim to provide victim-survivors with clear guidance on what to expect in court on the day of your hearing and help reduce anxiety about the court process.

What to Expect

• An overview of the hearing process and key legal proceedings
• Information of giving evidence in court
• A chance to see the court room & AVL room
• Information on your rights and role in the courtroom
• Guidance on how to prepare for the hearing day
• A chance to ask questions in a safe and supportive environment
• An opportunity to safety plan with a domestic & family violence specialist.

By attending a session, we aim to support you to gain confidence to attend court and give evidence in your case.
