The Family Co and Southern Waters Legal are facilitating a Family Law information session at our Jannali site. It will be held on Thursday 29th August 2024 from 6pm - 8pm.

This session will be delivered by one of the experienced solicitors of Family Law at Southern Waters Legal.

They will be providing information on Family Law matters covering topics like separation, parenting, child support, property, spousal maintenance and divorce.

This session is for individuals who reside in the Sutherland Shire, Georges River, and Bayside areas.

This free, 5 week education and support group is designed to provide a safe and nurturing space for women to understand the complexity of Domestic Violence and reduce the social isolation of their experience. Through the lived and shared experiences of women and their children, the group allows women to build on their strengths to keep themselves and their children safe.
Mums and Bubs Yoga Term 3 (2024) *Open to Sutherland Shire Residents Only

Build Strength, reduce stress and meet new people while engaging with your bub in this Yoga class for Mums and Bubs, held at Jannali on Monday mornings. The cost for the term (8 classes) is $80.

Legal Support

The Family Co. is pleased to partner with a number of legal practices supporting women experiencing domestic or family violence. Legal services will provide a free initial consultation to referred clients, offering legal advice and assessing the potential legal options available to them.
Art Therapy for Women impacted by domestic violence

The Family Co. have a qualified Art Therapist on staff, who works with women impacted by domestic violence in regular sessions.
Staying Home Leaving Violence

Staying Home Leaving Violence is a specialised domestic and family violence program covering the Sutherland Shire to assist women and their children who have separated from a violence partners or family member. The program aims to improve outcomes for women and children by supporting them stay in their own home safely where possible, or relocate to safe accommodation and live free from violence.
Love Bites

Love Bites is a school based domestic and family violence, sexual assault and consent awareness education program, targeted at Year 10 students This program is run in local high schools by trained facilitators.
The resilience of our BRIC team on display with online transition

What a week it's been! Today our "Building Resilience in Children" (BRIC) Team have been "practicing what they preach", showing incredible resilience themselves in quickly adapting their programs to online formats,. Today, they delivered their Healing Connections program via video conference, showing families that even when times are "extra" tough, support is still available.

Volunteer

Volunteering is a great way to help us! We're a lean and specialised team, and while we don't allow volunteers in client facing capacities, we are very grateful to have volunteers who can assist with admin, marketing and events. If you're interested, we'd love to hear from you!

The Southern Sydney Women's Domestic Violence Court Advocacy Service (SSWDVCAS) provides information, advocacy and referrals for women and families attending Sutherland and Kogarah Local Courts for Apprehended Domestic Violence Orders.
Learning about Australian Animals sparks joy in Djanaba kids

Last week the Djanaba Occasional Care team integrated a learning unit on Australian Animals, with the children showing great interest in the varied activities from reading, to art, to games, that helped them learn all about koalas, kangaroos, and other native fauna.
Play and Connect

Play and Connect is a free playgroup for families with children aged 0-5, and operates every Thursday morning during school terms at The Family Co centre in Jannali. This supportive group provides opportunity for families to connect with their child through fun, interactive activities, sensory play and art.
